Sep 26th 2007
hi

This weeks Answer: The Everglades.

Chapel Trail Nature PreserveTucked away in West Pembroke Pines is a park that encompasses the beauty of nature. Welcome to Chapel Trail Park Nature Preserve. Overseen by The City of Pembroke Pines, it is located at 19800 Sheridan Street (almost to US27, near but not actually in the Everglades). There is no parking fee and no fee to get in – it’s FREE. Open Monday through Sunday, 7:30 a.m. to dusk. Just park your car and take a walk along the 1650 feet of boardwalk that takes you through the 450 acre wetland. Along the way there are placards identifying native plants, birds, animals and reptiles you might see in your travels. The wetlands have become home to 120 species of wildlife. Canoe rentals (by the hour or all day) are available for a small fee. Its clean, educational, free and absolutely breathtaking. Don’t forget your camera.
