Gut reaction !

How often do you form an immediate opinion about someone you meet? That EXACT SAME PHENOMENON happens with buying a home … Buyers frequently are smitten by your house at the very first glimpse … before even stepping inside! (I see it all the time!) Before leaving their car, your buyer may have already decided. “This is it!” Sure… caulking, touching up, repairing leaky faucets and repositioning furniture…. help. But many a decision is made from the street. So… make the first impression welcoming and inviting! Bikes, shoes, toys by the doorstep? Toss the clutter in the garage. Terracotta pots with scroungy looking plants… or bare dirt? Plant some flowers. Opt for hues that compliment one another (yellow, purple and blue), and vary the heights for visual appeal. Listing it today? Put in more mature plants in full bloom. Listing it 3 months down the road? Use smaller plants that will fill-in over time. If you’re a pack-rat (like I am) and collect ’stuff’, put some of that clutter away, labeled and left (in boxes!) IN FULL VIEW in the garage, letting that prospective buyer know you are serious about selling.Gut reactions sell houses and first impressions count. Limit clutter, and add a spark of color and richness to your landscaping. Your buyer may decide “Yes… this house is mine!” before going inside!
