Hit it out of the Park! Weston Regional is one of SW Broward’s Best Kept Secrets
Categories: Community Information, Real Estate News, Weston
hiWeston Regional Park is one of the best kept secrets in Southwest Broward. How many times has my family enjoyed the amenities. First of all, my four sons and daughter have created friendships playing softball and winning championships. I have watched as my daughter has fallen asleep in the car after a good, hard game.
It is WALL Season: The Weston Area Little League are the stars right now — girls’ softwall and boys’ baseball. Their season has begun
and runs through sometime in April. The WALL program is for all skill levels. The kids not only have fun, they learn about teamwork, how to win, how to lose, and how to respect adults in authority, i.e., their coaches. In fact, my son Danny, now in his twenties, is umpiring the girls’ softball team.
My entire family has been involved in this program for over nineteen years. My husband Tom has been on the board and volunteered as a coach.
One of the facilities at the park is the YMCA. Now that I am a champion “spinner,” I have learned the importance of getting and staying in shape! I have been to several different exercises classes at the “Y” — Zumba, Kickboxing, Bootcamp at 5:30am, Yoga, and the Pilates. However, the spin class is my new love.
With the completion of the outdoor pool, many will enjoy all types of water sports, from swimming to water polo.
My sons and daughter have also been involved in AYSO - Soccer League. AYSO Region 644 offers both a Fall and Spring League. The Fall league runs from September until mid December and the Spring League runs from February until May, thus providing a year round soccer program.
My children have been involved in all sports at the Weston Regional Park — including basketball. The experience has allowed my entire family the benefits of lasting friendships and daily athletic endeavors — which is the best way to balance the mental stress of the day-to-day school activities and work!

Thank you for writing about the Regional Park. Best kept secret in Broward County!!
