Pay Equity March

hiPay equity is a means of eliminating sex and race discrimination in the wage-setting system by evaluating and compensating jobs based on their skill, effort, responsibility and working conditions - and not on the people who hold the jobs.
On average, women working full-time year round in the United States earn approximately 23% less than their male counterparts.
The Miami Beach Commission for Women will hold its 4th Annual “Women in the Red” march on Lincoln Road for National Equal Pay Day on Tuesday, April 22nd, from 12 noon - 1:00 pm. Participants will wear red to call attention to the fact that women remain “In the Red” when it comes to equal pay.
Participants will meet at the grassy platform near the band shelter at the corner of Euclid Avenue and Lincoln Road. We will march in a westward loop toward Alton Road and then back to Euclid. The event will last approximately one hour.

Please take an hour of your time and join us to close this unfortunate gap in pay, and if possible, wear red.
Thank you and see you there.
