Are you Aware of the New High School Boundaries in Broward County?

If you are you looking for a specific high school for your children in western Broward County, you may want to check out this information.

The School Board of Broward County officially approved the District’s 2008/09 high school attendance areas plan for high schools in western Broward County.

The new boundaries mainly involve students at Cypress Bay, Everglades, Miramar and Western High Schools. The plan also includes students who will attend the District’s newest high school, West Broward High School, beginning in the fall of 2008.

Below are the specific areas that involve student relocation for the 2008/09 school year:

CYPRESS BAY HIGH SCHOOL - Home of the Lightning, Weston

Cypress Bay High School
Students residing in Weston (excluding a specific area in northeast Weston
) will attend Cypress Bay High School in 2008/09. See the new map.

 

WESTERN HIGH SCHOOL - Home of the Wildcats, Davie

wildcats1.jpgStudents from the following communities will be moved from Cypress Bay High School to Western High School:
Bonaventure, Bonaventure Lakes, Fairways at Bonaventure, Saddle Club Estates, Tequesta Lake, Tequesta Pointe and Fairlake. See the new map.

WEST BROWARD HIGH SCHOOL - Home of the Bobcats, Pembroke Pinesbobcats.jpg
Students from the following communities will be moved from Cypress Bay High School to West Broward High School:
The Trails, Durango Ranches, Frontier Trails, 198 Terrace, Laguna Isles, Christy’s Ranches, Griffin 345, Westfield Estates, Country Corners, Country Estates Tara, Country Acres, Jonel Terrace, Rolling Oak Estates, Green Meadows, Estates of Stirling Lake, Stonebridge Lake Estates, Calusa Corners, Hawkes Bluff, The Enclave, The Waverly Hundred, Regency, Ivanhoe Estates, Waterford, Falcon Lea, The Crossbow, Sheridan Glen, Meadowview Estates, Sunshine Ranches*, The Homeland*, Seligman Ranches*, Country Glen*, Stirling Ranches*, western area of Natalies Cove* and Sanudo Estates*

* indicates choice to Cooper City High School

Students from the following communities will be moved from Everglades High School to West Broward High School:
Hidden Lakes, Chapel Trail, Walden Lake, Alhambra, Keystone Lake, Estancia, Encantada, western Pembroke Isles and northern portions of Stirling Place.

Students living on both sides of US27 in seasonal or temporary facilities from the Miami-Dade County line to the Palm Beach County line will attend West Broward High School. See the new map.

COOPER CITY HIGH SCHOOL - Home of the Cowboys, Cooper City

87 students (east of S.W. 148th Avenue to Flamingo Road) currently zoned for West Broward High School will have the choice to attend Cooper City High School, but must apply for reassignment by contacting the District’s Pupil Placement and Reassignments Office at (754) 321-3035. See the new map.

EVERGLADES HIGH SCHOOL - Home of the Gators, Miramar
Students from the following communities will be moved from Miramar High School to Everglades High School:everglades.jpg
Country Lakes, Flamingo Estates, Trilogy, Monarch Lakes, St. Andrews, Renaissance, Haven Lakes, Somerset and Bluegrass Lakes West.

Students who are currently juniors at Cypress Bay High School, Everglades High School or Miramar High School (will be seniors in 2008/09) will not be impacted by these changes.

Visit the Broward County School Locator site to obtain more information about the new boundaries and to confirm the school assigned to your specific address for 2008/09.
