Miami-Dade hotels had little trouble filling rooms last month, bolstering hopes that national economic woes won’t depress South Florida’s tourism industry”, according to the Miami Herald.

South Beach is at the forefront of this tourism trend, attracting more tourists than Broward or the rest of Miami -Dade County, which also reflects the real estate trends when comparing the South Beach market to the rest of South Florida.

Of all the visitors, “90 percent arrive by plane and nearly half are from other countries, where favorable currency exchanges are bolstering buying power in the United States’, according to the Herald.

In a recent visit to my local supermarket, I felt like a tourist in Italy, as I was surrounded by Italians merrily shopping all around me.

I welcome all visitors, who inject a much-needed boost into our Miami Beach’s tourism and real estate industries.
