A lot of news and commotion is popping up surrounding the recent press release announcing Marvel Studios’ plan to film Iron Man 3 in Downtown Miami in the late summer, early fall. This is the first film to shoot on location in Miami since Marley & Me, with the 2011 filming of Rock of Ages having filmed on location in nearby Broward County.
Graham Winick, the City of Miami Beach film and event production manager, was allotted a 5 year, $242 million tax credit incentive to lure producers and film makers to the Miami Beach area. Started in July, 2011, this tax incentive will bring hundreds of millions of dollars in tourism and miscellaneous revenue to Miami in coming years, state officials hope.
Residents of Downtown Miami and Miami Beach are in for a cinematic treat, being surrounded by the likes of industry leaders and actors including Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Guy Pierce, Rebecca Hall, Andy Lau, and more.
My question is which fabulous high rise piece of real estate on the Miami skyline will bear the ‘Stark Industries’ name in the movie?
Tony Stark, the mega-wealthy businessman who acts as the Ironman character, always resides in an ultra luxurious condo atop his own 40+ story business complex, traditionally located in New York City.
Omni Biscayne Bay Real Estate offers infinite options for the likes of even the most discerning businessmen like Tony Stark. Perhaps the Marquis Residences would be a nice fit, a 67 story residential building that happens to be the tallest solely residential building in the state of Florida, topped off in 2008 with some units priced around $7 million. Producers could also look toward one of the many high rise business towers within the city, such as the Met 2 Financial Center, towering 47 stories high, and completed in 2010, gaining a lot of exposure through the Metropolitan Miami Project backed by the O’Neal Group (a development group owned by famed NBA player, Shaquille O’Neal).
Whichever the route, late summer will be an exciting time in Downtown Miami, with now being a great time to take advantage of the availability of bay front luxury condo and office space while it’s still available.
