Thursday, in the fifth game of the NBA Finals against young team Oklahoma City Thunder, The Miami Heat won their fourth game in a row to become the 2012 NBA World Champions.
Celebration has rang all week throughout Miami, including exclusive parties, events, and parades all over town.
Monday, June 25th, a parade was held as a public celebration in honor of the victory for the city. The route started in Mary Brickell Village and took the parade all the way to the Omni District, stopping at American Airlines Arena. The celebration inside the arena was ticketed, with floor level tickets selling for over $400 per seat.
On June 21st, the night of the victory, players including James, Wade, Howard, Battier, and Bosh showed up at Club LIV in the Fountainbleu on Miami Beach.
“LeBron James and Dwayne Wade both sang into the mics, danced on the stage, and shot CO2 guns into the crowd as celebratory songs such as “We are the Champions” played. Miami Heat coach, Erik Spoelstra, and team owner Micky Arison also stopped by LIV to revel in the big win” reported Seth Browarnik for World Red Eye.
