Did you know that each adult american receives about 41 pounds of junk(unsolicited) mail per year?How to make it stop? Here are a few ways, tried and tested by Karen G., owner of Red Pearl Yoga in Ft Lauderdale, Fl . They worked!!!

1) Donate Anonymously
Click here to access this group who will send your donation, but not your name or contact info, thus keeping you off solicitation lists.

2) Watch Out for those Warranty Cards
Generally you don’t need to return the card to activate the warranty. Read the small print. If you must, then skip filing out the more general lifestyle questions, and just give them your name, address and product info, purchase date details, etc.

3) End Unwanted Offers
Call 1 888 567 8688 or click here to be removed from the credit bureaus’ lists for pre approved cc offers and insurance. I did this and its been GREAT! Register online to opt out for 5 years or by mail for permanent removal(form on website can be printed out) They will ask for your ssn and dob to help the process, but it is not required.

4) Cancel Catalogs
Put out by the Ecology Center in California(of course) click here to manage and edit catalogs that come to your home. Keep the ones you like, get rid of the others.

5) Get off  those Mailing Lists!
This is a big one! The Direct Marketing Association(DMA) will remove your name from their database if you request it. That will take care of companies and non profits who solicit you via mail. click here to register.  This will reduce your junk mail by 80% –Its great too. Totally worked for me! Also you can register with 41pounds.org by clicking here and they will, for a $41 fee, remove your name from dozens of companies, and also contact the above mentioned DMA for you. The service lasts 5 years and one third of the fee goes to environmental and community programs–you choose which one when you register.

6) Prevention is the key!
Make your preferences known every time you  buy something . By phone, tell the agent not to add your name to the mailing list–or sell, rent, trade your info. When ordering online, always check the opt out box. If there isn’t one, contact their customer service dept. with a separate request.

7) What to Do with the Rest?
Recycle it. Most of Fort Lauderdale has  curbside paper recycling programs. If you don’t qualify, or its not in your area, there are various drop off bins. Many elementary schools actually raise money based on how much paper they capture. You can also click here  and enter your zip to find programs /drop offs in your area.

NLP also works on Communication skills. Effective communication skills can help individuals more clearly interact with customers and communicate. By one’s interpersonal awareness and communication skills, one may proceed more effectively and with less stress.The course is being given by Dr. Janet Konefal, Asst. Dean of Complementary Medicine at University of Miami and Master NLP Trainer and Wolfgang Meub, an NLP trainer specializing in business and sales.
