Ashley Brinson Cusack

When I am having a tough week I always wonder if Mercury is retrograde. Today I Googled it, and, as you can see from the picture above, I am clearly not the only one who is asking the same question! No, Mercury is currently not retrograde and, according to www.ismercuryinretrograde.com, Something else must be bumming [me] out . . . That is correct! Appraisals are bumming me out! Foreign Investment, or Lack Thereof

Ashley Brinson Cusack

A little while ago I attended the Luxury Portfolio International Summit on Miami Beach. It is a great opportunity to network with my fellow realtors, not to mention it is incredibly educational! One subject that was discussed extensively at this year’s conference was the lack of foreign real estate investment in the United States. Miami is a very international market, so we have certainly felt this change over the past year, and I was interested to learn...Continue Reading!

Miami Home Buying Tips: Cast Iron Plumbing

Ashley Brinson Cusack

Lately I have had two deals hit rough patches because their inspections have revealed cast iron pipes under the house. Cast iron piping, which was utilized until around the mid-1970’s, ultimately corrodes and gives way, which can cause major water damage to a home. Now, if a home is built with a crawl space, replacing this type of plumbing is not such a huge undertaking because a plumber can go right under the house and work from there....Continue Reading!

South Miami Home for Sale on the Ludlum Trail

Ashley Brinson Cusack

I have just listed a wonderful 55,844 square foot property with a lovely 3 bedroom / 2 bathroom home at 7643 SW 71 Avenue. One of the most unique things about this property is its central location that feels so remote and, most importantly, that it backs up to the Ludlum Trail. What is the Ludlum Trail, you ask? It is a 100 foot wide, 6.2 mile long trail that runs from Dadeland Station to Miami International Airport. “Running right...Continue Reading!

The Importance of Giving Back

Ashley Brinson Cusack

I recently attended the Luxury Portfolio Conference on Miami Beach, and one entire morning was spent talking about giving back. I absolutely love that this topic was given so much importance in a high-end luxury real estate seminar. I have always believed in giving back and find that it is one of the most important aspects of my life, whether I am coaching lacrosse, volunteering with the Junior League Foundation or Beaux Arts, or serving on my church’s...Continue Reading!

Yes, You Really DO Need a Realtor!

Ashley Brinson Cusack

I was recently featured in a Miami Herald article about finding the right realtor. I was so happy to be included in this informative piece that answers many of the questions that people have when they decide to buy or sell a home. People often ask me why they should use a realtor. Whether you are buying or selling, I would say that the answer to that is simple: experience. Some people only buy or sell...Continue Reading!
