There are stands with pretzels, ices, water, and tents where the children can get a purple painted face.  The stage had three beautiful little girls in long pink dresses singing and the seats were all taken by 12:00 p.m. as soon as the park opened.  I would say that this event was put together beautifully and it truly enhances the experience of living in Aventura.

This great designer of Venezuelan descent will make a special apeparance in Bloomingdale’s to introduce her new fragrance.

Aventura residents and fans of this great designer will have the chance to meet Carolina Herrera and be among the first to have her autograph a bottle of CH.

This Event will take place on November 14, 2009 at 2 p.m. in Bloomingdale’s, at the Aventura Mall.

 Here’s another oportunity to show our troops who are stationed overseas for the holidays that we appreciate all that they do for us.  Operation Gratitude was established in 2003 and has to date sent over 464,000 care packages to U.S. Troops deployed overseas. These care packages contain food, hygiene products, entertainment items, and personal letters of appreciation. Three events are being held right here in our community:

As the Festival Ambassador, I have the honor of greeting all the visiting chefs and winemakers as they disembark at the airports, and I have to tell you that they are just as excited to do the Festival as all the festival-goers are to attend it.

Another position I hold for the Festival is that of Guest Services Coordinator.  I work on site all weekend at the Whole Foods Market Grand Tasting Village.  If you have any questions or problems during the weekend, it will be my Guest Services Team’s pleasure to help you out.  My team consists of 20 FIU Hospitality Students who work all weekend with me to ensure every guest has a positive experience at the Festival.

If you haven’t had the opportunity in the past to experience the Food Network South Beach Wine & Food Festival, now is the time.  You’ll be glad you did!

FUNIES Foundation is a non-profit equestrian organization located in the heart of Southwest Ranches, Florida. FUNIES dedicates themselves to teaching special needs students through equine assisted activities. FUNIES gives students the opportunity to develop independence and achieve educational goals. FUNIES has been used as a therapeutic, hippotherapy and learning experience for all students. FUNIES is a proud member of NARHA and also a host for the Special Olympics.

Silent Pumpkin Auction

Going on now through October 30, 2009, bid on hand-painted pumpkins to benefit charity.  The proceeds will go to Whole Planet Foundation, which raises awareness about the power of microcredit to help people lift themselves out of poverty.
