Beach at Singer Island

What is most special about Singer Island is what it ISN’T. It isn’t Palm Beach, Ft. Lauderdale or Miami. It doesn’t have a mall(yet) or a fast food restaurant. It isn’t overrun with tourist hotels. There isn’t much traffic, vehicular or otherwise. There are very few businesses and what is there, caters to the local residents and winter tourists. There isn’t even anyone selling anything on the beach.

Singer Island is a serene and long narrow stretch of pristine Florida sandy beach and blue blue water. It is eight miles long and bordered on the northern end by John D. McCarthur State Park with 335 acres of preserved beaches, lakes and subtropical coastal habitat of as well as the newly renovated 79 acre Peanut Island Park. The southern end is actually occupied by the small beach community of Palm Beach Shores. In between there exists a mixture of single family homes on the Intra-coastal side of Ocean Drive and Luxury High Rise Condominiums on the Atlantic Ocean Side. At some points it is possible to see both the Intra-coastal and the ocean while driving the length of the Island. It’s that small, private and exclusive. Singer Island is the closest point to the warm Gulfstream waters that provide a year round enjoyable climate.
