Last Monday I had dinner at Barrio Latino, the newest addition to Downtown South Miami's restaurant scene (actually it is located at 1559 Sunset Dr., Coral Gables). I had one of the ceviche dishes with my wife, and it was to die for. The real surprise was the staff who couldn't have been nicer or more efficient. Today I spoke with Astrid Ehrenstein, the restaurant manager, who mentioned that customer service as well as food will be the hallmarks of...Continue Reading!

Chamber South's South Miami Art Show always announces the beginning of the winter season & last weekend's show was no exception. With incredible South Florida weather Sunset Drive in Downtown South Miami was clogged with individuals enjoying Chamber South's annual event. Congrats to Chamber South's Mary Scott Russell, her staff, & volunteers for another great weekend. To read my other blogs open this link. To follow us on Facebook open this link. Continue Reading!
A sign of the times....One of our clients recently purchased the lot at 5195 SW 75 St in High Pines for $560K which is a far cry from the $1,200,000 price the seller purchased the property for in February 2006. Luxury Miami Homes and Real Estate for Sale Luxury Miami Homes and Real Estate The characteristics that define Luxury real estate differ among countries. However, location largely defines the property's value, especially with respect to whether it offers views (particularly, waterfront ones) or amenities such as proximity to golf courses, school districts, and the downtown district. Thus, a 750-square-foot (70 m2) waterfront home with less than 1-acre (4,000 m2) of property might be worth more than a 10,000-square-foot (930 m2) mansion with...Continue Reading!

This is not a scientific study conducted by an esteemed economist , but rather my drive through of the Ponce Davis, High Pines, & Platinum Triangle section of South Coral Gables looking for construction activity. Before the recession contractors & "spec" builders were everywhere either remodeling older homes or tearing them down . Well times have changed, & I could only find 13 sites (I excluded the homes where construction efforts apparently had stopped). In another 18 months or so...Continue Reading!
If there is a recession you would never know it in Downtown South Miami. Our friend, Miss Val is busy on a daily basis filling the parking spaces and keeping the traffic moving in South Miami's Blue Mall as well as being the font of all South Miami information. Here are pictures of a couple of the friendly locals: 1) Dorothia Higgs 2) Krista Rios & her uncle Tony Rios 3)Guillermo de la Paz & 4)Miss Val & retired Sone...Continue Reading!

There is a great, slightly older section of the South Gables called the Platinum Triangle.. Geographically it is located between Old Cutler Road, Erwin Road (SW 47 Ave), & Sunset Drive (SW 72 St.).Most of the homes were built in in the 50s & 60s but have been well maintained. It is a real neighborhood with lots of trees made for the family that likes to ride bikes or walk. There are seven homes presently listed for sale & there...Continue Reading!
Hard to believe but a partially constructed home in the 1100 block on the Coral Gables Waterway in the South Gables is scheduled for auction next month. Not only will the buyer have to finish construction of the home, but he/she will be responsible for the City of Coral Gables charges which now stand at more than $105K. The house being auctioned: The sign announcing the auction: Coral Gables' charge: Homes of the neighbors who have been stuck with this...Continue Reading!
