I ran into my friend & High Pines neighbor, Miss Val, yesterday while we were walking our dogs. Miss Val mentioned that she was introduced to Ivette Agusti, one of the applicants wishing to change the zoning at 5450 SW 72 St. Apparently the applicants also wish to block the entrance to several of our roads similar to the blocked streets off Red Road. The owners of 5450 SW 72 St. (known to everyone as Sunset Dr.) have requested a zoning change from single family to semi-professional office district. This change is incompatible with the family neighborhood in High Pines & must not be allowed to happen. Once one change occurs it becomes easier for a second to happen & before you know it Sunset Drive will look like Bird Road. Last Monday I had dinner at Barrio Latino, the newest addition to Downtown South Miami's restaurant scene (actually it is located at 1559 Sunset Dr., Coral Gables).
